The grasslands exist in the tropical and the temperate climates.

Grasslands areas the midpoint between forest and deserts.

It is believed that if the grasslands received a bit more rain they would someday become a forest, and if they received less, a desert.

They are know for their temperate weather and rolling winds. Grasses can often be seen bending.

There are 2 threats in the grasslands that are effects of the climate:

  1. TORNADOS - The rain and wind are a dangerous mix because there are few mountains to break up large storms. The grasslands are a frequent target for tornados.
  2. FIRES - During the dry season, a small fire can quickly become a large disaster, the high winds help the fires move across the countryside.
