A super site for kids to learn U. S. census information.  Includes an interactive map students can click on to learn information about each state.  Also includes online quizzes. Grades 2-5

National Geographic's "Xpeditions":  

Check out this interactive "museum" that will take on geography journeys.  Come in and visit an archeological dig or climb a mountain. This site includes lesson plans, games, maps, activities and more.  Grades 5-8

Virtual Tourist
At this site there is an interactive world map and you'll be instantly transported to a large collection of online sites located in the continent, country, city, or town or your choice.  Grades 6-12

Time Capsule
There are many time capsule sites available on the web and this is just one that students can use. At this site you can type in a specific date and see the highlights including music, politics, TV, movies, prices of goods, etc.  Grades 3-8

Enchanted Learning
This is a fun educational site for audiences as young as preschool. Some of the areas covered: science, language arts and geography. (Not all pages are interactive.) Grades PreK-3

Scholastic News
The News Zone presents current events that are most relevant to students, in a format that is fun and appealing. The current events and engaging activities include Note Now, Games and Quizzes, What’s Your IQ and Write a Caption. Grades 3-8

A collection of language arts, math, science, and social studies.  Grades PreK-6
